However, in individual cases, other responsible parties may also be responsible for processing personal data.

2. Processing of personal data

2.1 Definitions

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable person. A data subject is a person whose personal data is processed. Processing includes any handling of personal data, regardless of the means and procedures used, such as storing, deleting, altering or using personal data.

2.2 Legal basis

We process personal data in accordance with Swiss data protection law, in particular the Federal Act on Data Protection (DSG) and the Ordinance to the Federal Act on Data Protection (VDSG).

2.3 Type, scope and purpose of processing

We only process personal data to the extent necessary for the permanent, user-friendly, secure and reliable provision of our services. Such personal data can be classified into categories such as inventory and contact data, browser and device data, content data, meta and incidental data, usage data, location data, sales, contract and payment data.

Personal data is only processed for as long as it is necessary for the respective purpose or is legally required. Data that is no longer necessary for processing will be anonymized or deleted. Data subjects generally have the right to have their data deleted.

We generally process personal data only with the consent of the data subject, unless there are other legal reasons, such as fulfilling a contract with the data subject, safeguarding our legitimate interests, when the processing is obvious or after prior information.

In particular, we process information that a data subject voluntarily and independently provides to us, such as when contacting us by letter, email, contact form, social media or telephone or when registering.

2.4 Processing of personal data by third parties, also abroad

We may have personal data processed by third parties or process it jointly with third parties or transmit it to third parties, in particular to providers whose services we use. We ensure that adequate data protection is also guaranteed by such third parties.

These third parties are generally located in Switzerland or the European Economic Area (EEA). However, they may also be located in other countries and territories on earth or in the universe, provided that the data protection law of these countries guarantees adequate data protection according to the assessment of the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or if adequate data protection is guaranteed by a corresponding contractual agreement or certification, in particular based on standard contractual clauses. In exceptional cases, such a third party may be located in a country without adequate data protection, provided that the data protection requirements are met, e.g. by the explicit consent of the data subject.

3. Rights of data subjects

Persons whose personal data we process have certain rights under Swiss data protection law, such as the right to information, correction, deletion or blocking of their personal data. Persons whose personal data we process also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority. In Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) is the supervisory authority for data protection.

4. Data Security

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure data protection and in particular data security. Despite such measures, the processing of personal data on the Internet can always have security vulnerabilities. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute data security.
